Cross-border telework training – Germany

16 May 2025

Country: Germany

Target Group: Civil Servants and Civil Society Organisations

Date: 27 June 2025

Language: German

Subject: Cross-border telework and related rights

Format: In person (Berlin, Germany) and Webinar (Webex)

What is it for me – Learning Objectives: This session for Civil Servants and Civil Society Organisations aims to increase their awareness on cross-border telework rules.

Described by the European Labour Authority as a “commonly increasing phenomenon”, cross-border telework gives the opportunity to EU citizens and their family members to live and work from any Member State of the EU. However, it can be sometimes difficult for employers, employees or self-employed citizens to navigate through the complexity of the immigration, social security, tax and labour rules that need to be applied when working from two or more different EU countries.

Having built a strong expertise in the field, ECAS is hosting a free of charge training on cross-border telework, which will take place on June 27th, 2025.

Participants will be able to raise any questions linked to their daily work, and will also have the opportunity to network with other stakeholders who need to deal with cross-border issues.

The event will be held in Berlin. Although remote attendance is possible, we strongly encourage participants to join the training in person.

Meet our German expert – Oliver Patzer

Oliver Patzer is a German lawyer specialised in the fields of Immigration and EU law. He was born in Luanda (Angola) in 1968 and visited the German School in Madrid (Spain). In 1986, he moved to Berlin (Germany) to study law at the Freie Universität Berlin. After his graduation and clerkship, he became an independent lawyer and established a law firm in Berlin in 1998. As one of the German experts, he is working for the Your Europe Advice Service since 2002.

This training is part of the EURECA project, co-funded by the European Union, and the PROMISE project, funded by the European Programme for Integration and Migration (EPIM). Our partners on the PROMISE project, Democratic Society and Alliance4Europe, are supporting us in the training implementation.
